Pinoy rock pioneer Mike Hanopol's signed guitar is one of the many interesting collectibles that will be up for auction this February.
The Steinberger guitar, which the "Laki sa Layaw" hitmaker has signed, will be up for bidding along with his other memorabilia at "pop!", an online event by gavel&block, Salcedo Auction's subsidiary for emerging collectors. It will kick off at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 3.
Also to be auctioned off are National Artist for Literature and Music Levi Celerio's composition sheets complete with handwritten notes, as well as a vinyl 45 record that immortalizes his poetic gifts. There will also be LPs by local singers from the '60s to the '80s, among them are albums from Gary Valenciano, Nora Aunor, and Sharon Cuneta.
Other finds in the sale include superhero comics (The Hulk, Spiderman, Batman and Robin, to name a few), themed tumblers (Boy George, Cindy Lauper, E.T.), Andy Warhol's soup cans, Yayoi Kusama's pumpkin, and Daniel Arsham's signed Nike Cavs jersey shirt.
Those looking for local treasures can bid for Yeo Kaa's Adidas shoes and skate deck for Progress, Elmer Borlongan's Hari Sonik for Secret Fresh, BenCab's limited edition Sabel watch for Swatch, and artworks by Isabel Santos, Romulo Olazo, Danilo Dalena, and National Artist HR Ocampo.
The no-reserve feature of gavel&block is making a comeback this year, featuring lots such as a serigraph by Fernando Zobel, an iconic Versace silk scarf, a sculpture by Lynyrd Paras, and figurines by Quiccs.
