With COVID-19 having far reaching effects on our land especially on the most underprivileged of our countrymen, many have started coming out to lend a helping hand. These include companies, organizations, and even individuals that are ready to pitch in and give aid, particularly day earners hit hard by the lockdown.

For its part, ABS-CBN launched “Pantawid ng Pag-ibig” last Thursday. The campaign aims to raise funds and collect basic necessities for poor families unable to source livelihood by mobilizing private companies and individuals.

The Lopez Group, which ABS-CBN is part of, is donating PHP 100 million as the initial donation to the campaign. “We will start this in Metro Manila and we hope that, through your help, we will reach other barangays in need,” says ABS-CBN president and CEO Carlo Katigbak in Filipino in an interview. “We don’t wish for anyone to starve during this time.”
