It seems like Dave Chappelle did everything in his Philippine visit. From performing to two sold out nights at Solaire to lounging around and smoking up a storm in Pangalusian, the American comic’s trip was well-spent.

Well, the 46-year-old added a bit of philanthropy to his to-do list as he and Solaire Resort and Casino donated PHP 1 million to the Rayomar Outreach Foundation, an on-the-ground non-profit that helps people who were affected by the recent eruption at Taal.

Katrina Razon, the daughter of Solaire’s chairman and CEO Enrique Razon, says she became even more of a Chappelle fan after his kind-hearted donation. “It’s one thing to meet your childhood hero. It’s another thing to produce his first ever show in the Philippines. Dave not only sent audiences here into hysterics, he also demonstrated how kindness and wisdom prevail the way,” she writes in an Instagram post. “Dave once said, ‘Constantly take inventory of what’s important to you.’ Thank you, Dave. For the laughter and nuggets of wisdom. It is no wonder you are one of the greatest comedians of our time.”

The younger Razon and Chappelle presented the check to Rayomar Foundation board director Martin Garcia and foundation president Ana Zubiri.

Razon praised the comic further, saying he has the “kindest of hearts,” in her Instagram stories, which also showed her hanging out with front act comic Michelle Wolf and Chappelle’s wife Elaine.

The Philippines is close to the comedy star’s heart as his wife is Filipina. He admires the country and Filipinos greatly, especially his mother-in-law, to whom he dedicated a substantial stretch of his performance to.
