This fuel-efficient e-powered car may be the answer to rising gas prices

“You don’t need to plug it in to charge, unlike other EVs. It’s self-charging,” says brand ambassador Matteo Guidicelli.

The continued gas price hikes have fueled an interest in owning electric vehicles (EVs). But with few charging stations installed around the country, many are wondering if this is really a good idea. Ready with its answer to this dilemma is Japanese car manufacturer Nissan. Its proposition: a fuel-efficient e-powered car.

According to Migs Bustos, host of ANC’s REV, the Nissan Kicks e-POWER has a 100% electric motor-driven system that runs just as smooth as an electric vehicle. It uses an electric motor to power the wheels and has a gasoline engine that acts as a power generator so it could charge the battery of the electric motor when needed.

Its Around View Monitor gives a 360° bird's-eye view that allows the driver to detect moving objects.

“You don’t need to plug it in to charge, unlike other EVs. It’s self-charging. It’s fuel-efficient,” offers e-POWER ambassador and former kart racer Matteo Guidicelli.

The Japanese automobile could run up to 22 kilometers per liter or approximately 900 km on just one full tank (41L) of gas, depending on driving conditions. It has a seven-inch colored TFT (thin-film-transistor) display meter where the power meter, battery gauge, and fuel range are indicated.

The car has an e-Pedal Step feature to accelerate and decelerate speed, while its Around View Monitor gives a 360° bird's-eye view that allows the driver to detect moving objects and help to conveniently and safely get the car in and out of tight spots.

It has "zero gravity seats" which alleviate fatigue for drivers and passengers.

Another safety feature is the intelligent forward collision warning which monitors the vehicle’s speed and the distance from the car ahead, alerting the driver to slow down via audio and visual alerts. Its emergency braking capability meanwhile automatically engages the brakes to help avoid a frontal collision or to lessen the severity of an impact.

The e-POWER’s exterior boasts a modern and sporty look, which is just as cool as its game-changing features. The starting price for an e-POWER is 1,209,000.
