From steak to horchata, here are 2 new food spots to check out in Quezon City

Time to call your friends and plan that food trip in the north.

Quezon City is known for offering plenty of options for diners, from cheap eats and comfort dishes to fancy fare. 

In a city this huge, new food spots keep popping up, and here are two of them. So, time to call your friends and plan that food trip in the north. 

Siesta Horchata Café

This cafe, which opened only this month, is all about horchata, a traditional Mexican rice-based drink with sweet, cinnamon-infused flavors. 

At the helm of Siesta Horchata Café is Paola Huyong, who found inspiration in the drink as a pandemic-friendly coffee alternative. She hopes to provide a space where people could slow down and relax, much like the traditional siesta in Spanish culture. 

Here, you can try beverages such as Burnt Horchata, Chaichata (horchata + chai), Death by Horchata (dirty horchata + Bailey's), and Matchata (matcha + horchata), and pair them with hearty snacks like Katsu Sando and Ham and Prosciutto Baguette.

Siesta Horchata Cafe is located at 33 Scout Santiago, Dililman, Quezon City. Opening hours are from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

Wolfgang's Steakhouse Grill Araneta City

In case you haven't heard, Wolfgang finally has a branch in Quezon City. 
Wolfgang's Steakhouse Grill Araneta City is more casual and relaxed than its primary counterpart -- which also means prices are slightly more affordable, making it an ideal dining spot before watching a sports match or concert at the nearby Araneta Coliseum, or for post-game celebrations.

Here, you can enjoy classic menu items such as the USDA Prime Dry-Aged Porterhouse Steak and Dry-aged Tomahawk, as well as grill offerings like Skirt Steak Tacos, Lomo Saltado, Corned Beef Reuben Sandwich, Charbroiled Flank Steak, Prime NY Strips, and Classic Burger.

The new restaurant also has new cocktail creations like The Alpha (bullet bourbon, muscovado sugar, amaratto, angostura bitters, and orange bitters) and Lilikoi Margarita (passionfruit, lime, and Don Julio Blanco tequila), and wines to complement your choices of steaks and chops.
