Long-time patrons of Cowrie Grill cherish nostalgic memories of the culinary gem nestled within the iconic Manila Hotel. Browsing through heartfelt recollections on platforms like Yelp, it is evident that Cowrie Grill held a revered status as the quintessential steakhouse for Filipino gourmands throughout the '70s, '80s, and '90s. Renowned not only for its sumptuous steaks, intimate ambiance, and five-star service, it was a preferred destination for romantic encounters.
The fine-dining restaurant, however, had to give way to the expansion of Cafe Ilang-Ilang in 2010. In 2013, Cowrie Grill was re-launched and opened in Promenade, Greenhills to bring it close to its clientele in the northern side of Metro Manila.
It has been 10 years since and the steakhouse still stands as a haven for families, friends, and office workers seeking a delightful, intimate fine-dining experience after a day's work or shopping. It is known for its signature creation of steaks and grilled entrees, alongside its topnotch tableside service.
To celebrate its 10th year, Cowrie Grill showcases 10 popular dishes that have captured the hearts and palates of its valued guests over the years: Caesar Salad prepared in a tableside fashion; French Onion Soup; Fettuccine Al Funghi E Tartufo; Grilled Chilean Seabass; Saga Wagyu Beef Ribeye; Chateaubriand U.S. Angus; Bone-In Tomahawk Ribeye; Iberico Pork Loin; U.S. Angus Beef Tournedos Rossini with Foie Gras; and Baked Alaska flambéed with brandy.
The steakhouse is also offering an Eat All You Can Menu that allows diners to enjoy unlimited starters (truffled bruschetta with anchovy, risotto ball, involtino salmone con caprino, tramezzino with parma ham, arugula tomato, soups, Caesar’s salad, caprese, and mixed greens salad); two of three main courses (angus beef rib, grilled prawns, Chilean sea bass); unlimited sides (French fries, hassleback potatoes, mashed potato, basmati rice, steamed white rice, mushroom risotto, mixed mushrooms, pasta of the day); and unlimited desserts (opera cake, pistachio cake, cheesecake, ice cream, mango pudding) for only P2,900. Don’t resist the temptation and take bites of their irresistible crinkles, an ideal accompaniment to a cup of coffee or tea.
