If you're looking for a sign to buy a new pair of running shoes, this is it.
International running shoe brand HOKA Philippines has just opened two new stores simultaneously on Thursday — one at Greenhills Mall in San Juan, and another at One Ayala in Makati.
The stores feature a foot scanner that examines the runner's feet and suggests footwear specifically suited for them.
Customers can also immediately test shoes in-store as their branches also feature a treadmill.
The shoe brand also has existing stores at SM Aura Premier in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, and Ayala Malls Manila Bay in ParaƱaque.
Not sure what to buy?
Ronald Molit, coach of HOKA Run Club Philippines shared with ABS-CBN News what kind of shoes are fit for newbies who are up for a challenge.
If a runner prefers a "soft" shoe or is new to running and would sprint for a 5k or 10k distance, Molit said one should check out the Clifton 9.
If a runner has been consistently running for three months and wants to improve and increase speed, they should consider the Rincon 3, said Molit.
For advanced runners, Cielo X1 is the name of the game, according to the fitness coach.
One of the latest offerings from HOKA, Cielo X1 has a winged carbon fiber plate, resilient two-layer PEBA midsole, minimal rubber outsole coverage, and is soft and bouncy with high energy return.
