Over the past year, the Jordan brand has been releasing kicks one after another, including some awesome collaborations designed primarily for women. These include the recently dropped Travis Scott Jordan 1 low Olives, reportedly the last Travis Jordans ever to be released (and yes, they sold out in seconds).
But while they’re made mainly for the ladies, does this mean guys can’t rock these releases? Hell nah. After all, the love of sneakers knows no boundaries, and if you feel you can rock ‘em, go for it! The only boundary of course is if the manufacturer made the sneakers in sizes big enough for guys to wear them comfortably.
Thankfully, the Jordan brand made these particular kicks in almost a full size run (sorry though for guys who wear sizes 11 and up), and I managed to grab a pair from friends at Titan for a quick review.
Materials
Pretty much standard fare for Jordan 1s nowadays. Meaning, it’s actually a bit better than those released several years ago when they were pumping ‘em out like nobody’s business. These particular ones, dubbed the “Washed Pinks”, have that same type of rough suede or unfinished leather feel on all of its, uh, pink parts. Very, very similar to the sleeper hit Turbo Greens and Hyper Royals released over the past few years. But as I mentioned earlier, I actually think the leather quality is softer in these shoes. I do not like the cream or sail inner lining though—those will dirty up quick.

Design
It’s a Jordan 1. A classic silhouette. And while it’s lost a bit of its popularity this year, you can’t deny that the AJ1 still looks good with multiple fits. The pinkness of these though…you might either love or hate. And as a female work colleague pointed out, not everyone is fond of the aged looking midsole.

Wearability
These are neutral enough that I feel you can wear them with practically any fit: shorts, regular denims, skinny jeans, or wide-legged pants—pick your poison. And the color I think is actually gender neutral. I personally love how clean they look. I’d wear them with a dark outfit, preferably a navy blue top with black denims and possibly a black fanny pack. See them pop! However, they’re highs so are harder to slip on for that quick grocery run. Also, guys with wider feet may not feel as comfortable wearing them being a ladies release, so be prepared to get a size bigger.

Price
Given the AJ1 hype has died down, these are still sitting in select sizes at most retailers! To think you’d be paying resale prices for these if they dropped a year ago. I don’t think they’ll reach the sale section in several months though, so grab them if you want them.

Final rating
Like cotton candy. The nice, fluffy kind. Sweet, light, and sticky, that both men and women will love.
