Arguably, the Jordan 1 is the most popular sneaker in the Jordan brands lineup. And among the 1’s numerous variations, the Jordan 1 High is considered to be the cream of the crop, being the OG design that Michael Jordan himself first wore.
Recently, however, another Jordan 1 variant has stolen the thunder, so to speak, from the Highs. The Jordan 1 Low, once snubbed by so-called sneakerheads, has gotten much hype due to its easy-to-wear and matches-with-anything quality. Among the Lows, the OG version is particularly coveted, specifically because it’s how Jordan 1 Lows looked when they were first released. Today, we put our focus on the Jordan 1 Low OG Atmosphere Gray.
Materials
As OG variants are considered a bit “rarer,” materials are a notch above the normal Jordan 1 Lows (this is also true for the Highs, in case you’re curious). The tumbled leather is pretty nice, at par with its contemporaries—although the gray portions, which I initially thought were leather, are actually a thin suede. Leather would have probably been better for these parts. I mean if they insist on making it suede, what’s wrong with making it feel and look like suede?

Design
Do you know how to quickly tell if a Jordan 1 Low is an OG model or a “normal” one? Pro tip: Look at the heeltab - the Jordan wing logo for the OGs are on the tab while the normal ones have it directly on the heel. Now back to what we’re reviewing—the Jordan 1 Low OG Atmosphere Gray is a very clean shoe with a very clean colorway. Gray, white and sail meld well together. Also, it sort of has a bit of the vibes of Travis Scott’s latest Jordan collabs (which are OG Lows by the way).

Wearability
As I said, you can wear this with anything. Jeans? Check. Shorts? Check. Sweats? Check. Boxers? As long as you’re wearing something over them in public - Check. All that being said…it lacks a bit of oomph for me. But that may be what draws a lot of people to it, being such a universally wearable shoe. Rating A-
Pricing
If you’ve noticed, I try to feature kicks that you can still get off shelves. And this, amazingly enough, can still be found at several retailers. I wouldn’t sleep on them though, who knows when people wake up?

These are the bacon and eggs of the sneaker world - classics, not offensive, and something you can actually eat almost everyday without really getting too bored.
