Enrique Gil recently sold his two pairs of limited edition sneakers for a whopping P1.5 million.
Specifically, he sold his Nike Air Mag and Nike Air Yeezy 2 Red October. The Kapamilya actor is a sneakerhead and has a vast collection of sneakers -- ranging from the newest to the classics, and from rare finds and branded ones.
We caught up with Gil during the special screening of Liza Soberano’s Hollywood movie "Lisa Frankenstein" and we asked why those rare pairs of shoes are so expensive.
“It’s one of the holy grail of shoe collectors. I have two of those shoes,” he said.
And as to why he sold it, he said, “‘Cause I have a new collection now. I collect mga life-size busts, hyper realistic, made of silicone. They are also art pieces.”
Gil also realized something: “I’m not really into shoe collection anymore so I’d rather let it go para I can buy more of my new collection now.”
What are busts sculptures?
According to statues.com, bust sculptures were not only used to depict historical figures or famous individuals but also to capture the likeness of family members or loved ones.
Usually, a bust is a sculpture that captures a person’s image from the chest up. Compared to a statue, a statue shows a 3D representation of a human and usually, larger than life-size.
Gil sold his shoes to Dane Grospe, who happens to be a shoe collector as well.
