Siquijor has been included in Agoda's Top 9 nature destinations in Asia, based on searches on the booking platform in January.
In a statement, Agoda described Siquijor as a travel spot which "charms visitors with captivating mountain vistas and waterfalls."
"Mount Bandilaan, the island’s highest peak, showcases indigenous flora and over 100 butterfly species during hikes," it said.
"The enchanting Cambugahay Falls, nestled in a lush rainforest, is said to have restorative powers, providing a serene escape from urban life."
Aside from Siquijor, other destinations that made the cut include Ooty in India, Lombok in Indonesia, Miri in Malaysia, Hakone in Japan, Jeongseon-gun in South Korea's Gangwon-do, Hualien in Taiwan, Khao Yai in Thailand, and Dalat in Vietnam.
Agoda released the list to mark the launch of Eco Deals 2024, its flagship $1-million partnership with World Wide Fund for Nature, and to encourage travelers to visit nature destinations in the region.
"The Eco Deals program helps travelers 'give back' to protect for future generations some of the wonders that the world has to offer," said Enric Casals, Agoda's vice president for Southeast Asia.
