Filipino travelers are becoming more mindful of the potential impact of their choices on the environment. Booking platform Agoda released the results of its recent survey, which showed that 92% of Filipino respondents care more about sustainable travel.

Agoda users from the Philippines who took part in the survey mentioned some of the factors that could encourage them to make sustainable choices on their next trip: financial incentives (44%), the availability of travel packages (28%), clearer guidance on environmental impact, and relevant policies from the local government.

When asked about which sustainable travel practices they will prioritize on their trips, Filipino respondents said they would support local communities and conservation projects (33%), opt for more sustainable travel packages (24%), and recycle and reduce waste (15%).

Over 10,000 respondents from 10 markets across Asia were polled on Agoda's platform from March 1 to 5 this year, with almost 8 in 10 travelers expressing their willingness to make sustainable travel choices.

"The message is loud and clear: Travelers want to make more sustainable choices," Enric Casals, associate vice president at Agoda, said in a statement sent to ANCX. "Agoda's Eco Deals Program offers travelers a range of great value deals on selected properties, and for every booking, Agoda donates one US dollar to local conservation projects of World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF)."

"With a total donation target of up to one million US dollars, we are helping travelers to see the world for less, and do their part to give back to the destinations they care about," he added.
